Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt — United States President Donald Trump has reassured the global community that fears of a potential World War III are unfounded, declaring that no such conflict would begin in the Middle East if nations act wisely.
Speaking on Monday, October 13, at the Gaza peace deal signing ceremony in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, the US leader described the agreement as a historic breakthrough for regional peace.
“There won’t be World War 3, hopefully at all, but it’s not gonna start in the Middle East,” Trump said.
Standing alongside key world leaders at the US-brokered ceasefire summit, Trump addressed the longstanding fear that the Middle East could trigger another global conflict.
“I have read it many times that World War 3 will begin in the Middle East — it’s not gonna happen,” he insisted. “There was a time you might have thought it possible, but it’s not gonna happen. There won’t be World War 3, hopefully at all, but it’s not gonna start in the Middle East.”
The US President further emphasized that preventing global conflict depends on wise leadership and cooperation.
“We are not gonna have a World War 3 if we are smart,” he stressed.
Trump also outlined the humanitarian and security goals embedded in the Gaza peace plan, warning that international aid must not be misused to fuel extremism.
“We’ve all agreed that supporting Gaza must be done to lift up the people themselves. We don’t want to fund anything to do with bloodshed, hatred, or terror as has happened in the past,” he said.
He underscored the importance of demilitarizing Gaza and establishing a new civilian police force to ensure safety and stability in the region.
“Gaza, as I said earlier, I intend to be a partner in securing a better future… You are going to be working with the United States. We are going to make sure the Middle East is going to be a safe and secure place. It is a very important place in the world,” Trump added.
Earlier in the day, President Trump joined leaders of Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey — key mediators in the peace process — for the official signing ceremony. He hailed the Gaza peace deal as a turning point for lasting peace, urging all sides to remain committed to rebuilding trust and stability across the region.
“This is a historic moment. It shows what can happen when nations choose peace over conflict,” Trump concluded.
