Nollywood actress and filmmaker Etinosa Idemudia has issued a strong warning to women, advising them not to ignore violent tendencies in relationships.
In an Instagram story, the outspoken actress cautioned women against overlooking red flags, stressing that any man who physically assaults his partner during courtship is likely to become worse after marriage.
She wrote:
“I don’t know who needs to hear this but if he’s putting hands on you while dating, shoving you, hitting your hand, pushing your head as ordinary boyfriend… Be rest assured it will graduate to full blown beatings when you get married. Even before the marriage sef. He will beat you.”
Etinosa emphasized that while some women may choose to endure such abuse, her message was directed at those who value their peace and safety and are unwilling to settle for domestic violence.
“So this message is for the women that mind. Happy New Week,” she concluded.
Her statement has sparked conversations online about gender-based violence and the importance of setting boundaries in relationships before committing to marriage.
