Rapper Big Sean has firmly denied rumors that his chiseled six-pack is the result of surgery or performance-enhancing drugs, pushing back against viral claims circulating on social media.
The speculation began after a fitness influencer and self-proclaimed nutritionist suggested that Sean’s sculpted abs were likely achieved with the aid of steroids or cosmetic procedures. The claim quickly gained traction online, feeding into a growing trend of body scrutiny in the hip hop scene.
In response, the Detroit rapper took to social media to address the controversy, rejecting the accusations as unfounded. “No medical magic,” he said, adding that his physique is the result of consistent effort over the years. Sean also pointed to older photos, taken before the rise of social media, to show that he’s always maintained a fit lifestyle.
“I’ve been like this,” he said, dismissing suggestions of any artificial enhancements.
Big Sean isn’t the only rapper facing public doubt over his fitness. Fellow artist Drake sparked a flurry of online debate last week after posting a shirtless selfie, prompting some fans to question the authenticity of his abs. Drake has yet to issue any response.
Meanwhile, veteran rapper Benzino also chimed in on the topic. At nearly 60 years old, Benzino said he’s unfazed by comparisons to younger stars like Drake or Big Sean. In a recent interview, he credited his physique to discipline and dedication. “I’m in the gym all week long,” he said, emphasizing that his look is the result of pure hard work—not shortcuts.
As the online fitness obsession continues to intersect with celebrity culture, more artists are finding themselves defending not just their music, but their bodies too.
