Indomie Nigeria NAFDAC safety alert

Indomie Nigeria Clarifies NAFDAC Safety Alert, Says Product Not Sold in Nigeria

Posted on December 24, 2025 By Clare Aririahu No Comments on Indomie Nigeria Clarifies NAFDAC Safety Alert, Says Product Not Sold in Nigeria

Indomie Nigeria has issued an official clarification following widespread media reports concerning a safety alert by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on an Indomie Noodles Vegetable Flavour product.

In a press statement released on Monday, the company firmly stated that the product referenced in the NAFDAC alert is not manufactured, imported, distributed, or sold in Nigeria.

“The product referenced in the NAFDAC alert is not manufactured, imported, distributed, or sold in Nigeria.”

According to Indomie Nigeria, the safety alert issued by NAFDAC was related to a product recall in France in August 2025 and was communicated purely as a precautionary measure to protect Nigerian consumers.

“As clearly stated in NAFDAC’s official press release, the affected product recall was from France in August 2025 and the alert was issued purely as a precautionary measure to safeguard the Nigerian public.”

The company further clarified that it does not produce or market any noodle variant known as Vegetable Flavour within Nigeria, stressing that no such product exists in its local portfolio.

“Indomie Nigeria does not produce or market any noodle variant called Vegetable flavour, and no such product exists within Indomie Nigeria’s portfolio.”

Indomie Nigeria, which operates under Dufil Prima Foods Plc, reassured consumers that all noodles produced locally meet strict safety and quality standards.

“All Indomie noodles produced by Dufil Prima Foods in Nigeria are safe for consumption under strict quality control processes and in full compliance with NAFDAC regulations.”

Addressing images and packaging circulating online, the company noted that the product visuals being shared do not align with its officially approved branding.

“The packaging and product display shown in reports circulating online are clearly inconsistent with Indomie Nigeria’s approved packaging, branding, and labelling standards.”

The statement also highlighted that the importation of noodles into Nigeria is prohibited by law, warning consumers to be cautious of products with unfamiliar or unapproved packaging.

“It is important to note that the importation of noodles into Nigeria is prohibited under Nigerian law. Any product displaying packaging that is different from Indomie Nigeria’s approved branding should be treated with caution.”

Indomie Nigeria urged members of the public and media organisations to verify information from official sources and to clearly distinguish between locally manufactured noodles and foreign products.

“We encourage consumers and media platforms to rely on verified information from official sources and to distinguish clearly between noodles manufactured in Nigeria and imported ones.”

Indomie Nigeria wishes to clarify recent reports circulating in the media regarding a NAFDAC safety alert on an Indomie Noodles Vegetable Flavour.
