The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano has apprehended a 28-year-old man, Salisu Abdu Adam, for allegedly defrauding a married woman of ₦1.8 million through the use of charms.
Confirming the arrest in a statement, the Command’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing legal processing.
According to Abdullahi, Adam, who hails from Garko Local Government Area but resides in Kawo, Nassarawa LGA of Kano State, lured the unsuspecting woman with promises of securing better educational opportunities and a profitable business venture.
The NSCDC explained that the suspect allegedly used charms to gain the woman’s trust before collecting the money under false pretenses.
“Investigations have been completed and the suspect will soon be charged to court,” Abdullahi stated.
The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to clamping down on fraudsters exploiting unsuspecting citizens through deceitful and fetish practices.
