Nollywood actress Judy Austin has shared a powerful message to young women, warning them against rushing into marriage, especially when the decision is driven by pregnancy or societal expectations.
In a candid address to her followers, Judy cautioned that marrying a man simply because of pregnancy often leads to regret and unhappiness later in life.
“Don’t marry a man because you’re pregnant for him; you will regret it,” she declared firmly.
The actress explained that women should take time to understand the kind of man they are committing to. According to her, proper understanding and maturity are essential foundations for a successful marriage.
“Study the man you want to marry very well and ask yourself if you can live with him,” she advised.
Judy also emphasized the importance of personal growth and emotional readiness before marriage. She noted that many young girls rush into matrimony before they are mentally and emotionally prepared, leading to avoidable challenges.
“Some girls at 22 are still being taught about personal hygiene, yet they are already rushing into marriage. You need to be mature first. That way, if marriage turns out different from what you expected, you’ll know how to handle it,” Judy added.
Judy Austin’s message carries extra weight because of her own life experiences. She was once married at a young age to Mr. Obasi, a union that eventually ended in separation. Mr. Obasi has since spoken publicly, expressing his desire to have access to their children. Judy later remarried popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie after she reportedly became pregnant for him — a relationship that has sparked widespread conversation across social media.
With her heartfelt advice, Judy seems intent on using her personal story to guide younger women towards making better life and relationship choices.
