A Star-Studded Celebration with a Few Missing Faces
Afrobeats megastar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his wife Chioma Rowland celebrated their white wedding in grand style on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at The Havana, Miami, USA. The glamorous event, valued at a jaw-dropping $3.7 million, has been the talk of the entertainment world.
The festivities began with an intimate pre-wedding dinner attended by close family, friends, and celebrity colleagues, including Adekunle Gold, Teni, and influencer Tunde Ednut. In videos circulating online, Davido appeared vibrant in a multicoloured outfit, while Chioma radiated elegance in a white gown, both looking completely smitten with each other.
Cubana Chief Priest Explains Absence
While the celebration was filled with familiar faces, fans noticed the absence of Cubana Chief Priest, one of Davido’s closest friends. Taking to Instagram, he shared a heartfelt explanation, revealing that visa issues had prevented him from attending in person.
He wrote:
“Woke up this morning with mixed feelings. I’m happy and I’m still sad at the same time. Sometimes God has a way of making you understand that you are powerless, regardless of all you may think you have. I appreciate the bashing because that has given me multiple reasons and proof to apply again @usinnigeria.
Do it for me this time. You can clearly see how disappointed and hurt the world is to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding. You need to give me access to get my fat ass into America. Well, delay is never denial; CP is still hopeful. I’m wishing my best friend @davido and his beautiful wife @thechefchi an amazing wedlock… My beautiful, elegant, expensive, eloquent, and sophisticated wife @_deangels is there to share in this luxurious, blissful experience, so I’m there in body and spirit.”
Visa Woes for Chioma’s Parents
According to reports by blogger Stella Dimokokorkus, Chioma’s parents were also unable to attend the Miami wedding due to visa revocations and a temporary US ban.
Her post revealed:
“Insiders disclosed that the real reason their five-year visas were revoked was because when Chioma’s parents were asked at the US entry point how long they would stay, they said one month. However, Chioma had a postpartum condition and became anemic, prompting her mother to extend her stay to nurse her back to health, while her father returned as planned. The overstay reportedly triggered the revocation and temporary ban.”
Davido Reveals Wedding Price Tag and New Tattoo
During the pre-wedding party, Davido proudly disclosed the staggering cost of their dream wedding, saying:
“We spent $3.7m in cash. You should know what we are doing. It’s crazy.”
Adding to the romance, the singer unveiled a fresh tattoo of the name “Chioma” inked on the left side of his lower abdomen during a photoshoot.
Fans Anticipate the Grand Ceremony
As the official wedding unfolded, fans across the globe watched closely, eager to witness what is arguably one of the biggest celebrity weddings of 2025. Despite the absence of some loved ones, the Miami celebration remains a statement of Davido and Chioma’s enduring love story—blending opulence, music, and emotional moments in a way only Afrobeats royalty could pull off.
