Afrobeats megastar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed jaw-dropping details about his white wedding to his wife, Chioma Rowland, which took place in Miami, USA this August.
In a lighthearted conversation with friends ahead of the star-studded ceremony, Davido didn’t shy away from discussing the massive budget for the event.
“We have spent $3.7 million in cash. So we should know what we are doing. We are going crazy,” the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker said with a laugh.
The singer’s words hint at an extravagant and unforgettable celebration. Earlier this week, Davido and Chioma touched down in Florida aboard a private jet, welcomed with fresh flowers and a chair marked “MRS”, further fuelling excitement about the upcoming nuptials.
Celebrity Guests and High-Profile Attendees
The wedding guest list reads like a roll call of Nigerian entertainment and political royalty. Confirmed attendees include Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s cousin Adebayo ‘B-Red’ Adeleke, award-winning singer Adekunle Gold, and social media influencer Tunde Ednut.
Their Love Story: From Proposal to Twin Parents
Davido proposed to Chioma in 2019, but the couple weathered storms in 2021 following allegations linking the singer to another relationship. Tragedy struck on October 30, 2022, when they lost their first child, Ifeanyi.
However, love triumphed. By March 2023, Davido confirmed that he and Chioma had legally tied the knot. In October 2023, they welcomed twins in the US, followed by a glamorous traditional wedding in June 2024.
Adding to the glamour, Davido once revealed that Chioma’s wedding ring alone cost the equivalent of “two or three Rolls-Royce motor cars”.
With a $3.7 million budget, a luxury Miami setting, and a star-packed guest list, Davido and Chioma’s white wedding is shaping up to be one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity events of the decade.
