Grammy-winning legend Janet Jackson and R&B singer Maxwell have ignited dating rumors after they were spotted enjoying what appeared to be a PDA-filled evening in London on Monday, July 7.
The music icons were photographed arriving hand-in-hand at the Playhouse Theatre to attend the 1,500th performance of the award-winning production Cabaret. Jackson, 59, looked effortlessly elegant in an all-white pantsuit with her hair slicked back in a neat bun, while Maxwell, 52, matched her sleek look in an all-black ensemble.
Fans quickly took to social media with snapshots and videos of the pair walking into the venue together, further fueling speculation of a budding romance. Celebrity guests at the milestone event also included Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and actress Helena Bonham Carter.
A New Chapter?
This public appearance comes eight years after Jackson’s split from Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana, with whom she shares an 8-year-old son, Eissa. In a July 2024 interview with the BBC, Jackson described motherhood as “the most beautiful thing,” adding, “I’m so thankful God allowed me to have this experience… I love every single minute of it.”
When asked about her romantic past in the same interview, Jackson lightheartedly remarked, “How many times have I been married now? Three, I think.” Her previous marriages include René Elizondo Jr. and James DeBarge.
In a more reflective tone, the singer opened up about her relationship journey in a September 2024 interview with The Guardian, where she revealed she was single and working to break old patterns. “I think I am breaking that pattern,” she said. “I pray to God that I might have different lenses on these eyes than I did before.”
A Stellar Year for Jackson

Following a successful 10-date Las Vegas residency earlier this year, Jackson is scheduled to hit the stage again with six new shows slated for September.
