Brazilian football superstar Neymar Jr. is reportedly preparing to consult a renowned ‘miracle doctor’ as part of a desperate bid to overcome persistent knee problems and keep his fading World Cup hopes alive.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain winger has struggled with recurring injuries in recent years. Since joining Al Hilal in 2023 and later returning to his boyhood club Santos, Neymar has missed a staggering 89 matches, severely limiting his contributions on the pitch.
Despite those setbacks, the 33-year-old attacker still managed to deliver an impressive return last season for Santos, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists, helping the Brazilian Serie A side avoid relegation.
With what is expected to be his final World Cup approaching, Neymar is reportedly taking extraordinary steps to ensure his recovery. According to ESPN, the forward is turning to acclaimed Brazilian physiotherapist Eduardo Santos, widely known as “Dr Miracle”, due to his unconventional yet effective rehabilitation methods.
Santos has earned global recognition for accelerating the recovery of top athletes, including Philippe Coutinho and Matheus Cunha. A source revealed that the 45-year-old specialist will begin working with Neymar following the star’s scheduled partial arthroscopic meniscectomy on his left knee.
Neymar remains Brazil’s all-time top scorer, having surpassed football legend Pelé in September 2023. He has recorded 79 goals in 128 appearances for the Seleção. However, recurring injuries have kept him out of Carlo Ancelotti’s new-look squad, raising doubts about his future participation on the world stage.
Still, Neymar is said to be optimistic, hoping that this latest intervention—guided by the man famously called a “miracle worker”—could restore his fitness and revive his World Cup ambitions.
